You may ask yourself how it is possible for me to communicate with you. To answer this meaningfully I would have to go into a very long and detailed discussion, after which you might be even more puzzled than before. Suffice it to say that I am using a special channel of communication that I have managed to erect accross the vast gulf that separates our worlds in virtual time. This channel allows me to communicate with one human being in your world - codenamed W - by the means of mental ideas, sounds, images, sensations, emotions and impressions. The language I speak at home is not English or indeed any language to be found on your version of Earth. Yet I have learnt to speak and understand many of your languages. When working through W, though, I am restricted to those he is able to know and understand. The same is true of any other kind of information - I cannot transmit messages that are beyond W's abilities to comprehend and meaningfully communicate. Also I cannot give you any information that will allow you to objectively establish the existence of our world. We can only communicate through the medium of virtual timespace, not real timespace... and that constrains our inter-world communication to subjectivity and a degree of ambiguity. As for the way it happens in practice: W receives messages from me and broadcasts them into your world using your existing communications networks. In my turn I receive messages from him about your world, and discuss it with people in mine. Our interaction is of a very intimate nature: for him it is as if I exist inside him, and for me it is as if he exists inside me. Sometimes we feel as if we are one and the same person - I can act as if with his body, and he can know what it feels like to be me and to live in my world. So we ensure that the communication between us is very effective. The subjectivity and ambiguity enters where I, or W, attempt to share this communication with others. Because the entirety of it is within our minds, and there are no concrete pieces of evidence that we can show; nothing we say can be substantiated beyond doubt. Because our worlds are completely seperated in physical timespace, there is no way that they can interact directly. If there could be certainty of any of the facts that we mention, it would establish a base for direct interaction, which is impossible. The current interaction is much more subtle than that. Our worlds can indeed influence each other ... by departing from an attitude of uncertainty rather than certainty. Take nothing for granted, but also be willing to admit any possibility that is not too outrageous. If you people are willing to consider the possibility ... 'this might be so...' you may start to benefit from our experience - our failures as well as our successes - to broaden and deepen your vision and appreciation of your own reality.
These pages will contain an eclectic mix ... sober stories from the history of our world; a number of discussions of various problems; descriptions, definitions, explanations, proposals; personal stories containing action and intrigue; also I hope, eventually, lots of humour! It is still a bit of an ordeal for me to discover what it is that most people in your world consider funny. At the very least I can assure you that there is indeed quite a large amount of irony in these writings ... but it may demand of many of you a bit of scruitiny and cogitation to uncover it! As you can see these pages are also all decorated with pictures. These too will be of a diversity of types. There will be those portraying specific people, beings, objects, places, incidents and processes, and then there will be those of symbolic or purely decorative purpose. The pictures will also vary in style and quality ... specifically, I hope that W's technical skills will become very much more refined as we progress! But all of these pictures are meant to be expressions of our world, our ideas and our ways of life ... inadequate as they are due to the limitations under which we work. We still hope you will appreciate them!
In my world, my society, we have come very close to achieving all of our ideals. We have none of the problems that you have: our planet's ecology is unbelievably rich, and stable. There is no separation for us between human society and nature. Humans find their space among all the other species of living creature. There is no such thing as war. There isn't even an equivalent for what you call the crime of murder. We do not suffer from disease, our bodies do not deteriorate as we grow older, we live very long and we choose when and how we want to die. We see ourselves differently. We are not egocentric, we are not short-sighted, we are not petty. For us it is the natural, expected way to be. We are all brought up, educated, to see ourselves, our fellow people and our world in a way that just about totally precludes egocentrism, shortsightedness and pettiness. Truly ... we live in a world of beauty, peace, pleasure and abundance, which fosters a world-view that sustains those qualities.
Our world is indeed like that, and yet we don't take those things for granted. We remember times when things were otherwise. We remain aware of the possibility that things can be otherwise again in the future. And as for the present ... while it is very, very good compared to the actual past and also the possible future, it is still not perfect. What I said above is true: our people are on the whole good people: loving, considerate, kind, perceptive, knowledgeable, creative, versatile, imaginative, wise, responsible, enthusiastic, energetic, courageous, happy, healthy. But not all humans. The number is around 98% - but then there's the two percent of people who have serious problems. And with nature it's the same: on the whole the global ecology thrives, but there are areas where local ecologies are under pressure and face various threats. Again they amount to about two percent of the total. Not perfection ... but the problems are within our capacity to handle. Because the overwhelming majority of people are healthy and capable, and good people, they can help out the disadvantaged minority very well. Ecological problems, too, can be solved on a local basis so long as they don't become too big. We have found a mode of existence that we can all live with ... it is tolerable, often satisfying, for even those of us who are the worst off. Not perfection, for those who always want more than what they have, but (so we believe) pretty close to the best kind of society and world that we can have at present.
But we also know that we must never become complacent. We also are starting to realise that there are still major problems that we will need to overcome. The situation described above is in fact at this very moment undergoing a very surreal transition. Still it is true that only two percent of our people are unhappy ... but what is now happening is that the unhappy people are very rapidly removing themselves from our world. People are choosing to die early. So, at the moment many people are becoming very dissatisfied indeed ... but they remove themselves from society so rapidly that they never constitute a significant proportion of it. This appears to be becoming an epidemic that is threatening the entire human population of our world. We still stand at a hundred and sixty billion living human bodies in total, but death rates are climbing while the birth rate is dropping. Something, somewhere has gone terribly wrong.
Our investigations have started to suggest reasons for this. First, we suspect that some humans do not flourish under perfectly stable conditions, but need instability to stimulate them. They need challenges, they need to feel themselves called to perform great tasks, they need to struggle and strive. But there seems to be not much left to do in our wonderful world. Well... there are in fact lots and lots and lots of things for people to do; opportunities for engaging in almost every kind of conceivable endeavour ... except a few. There are not many niches open for revolutionaries in our world. There are not many life-and-death causes, no profound injustices, the future of mankind does not appear to be at stake. And yet there are those who passionately feel themselves naturally drawn to such momentous, world-changing/saving/fixing vocations... that appear to have no outlet here. So, many of our brightest, most talented citizens find themselves profoundly dissatisfied with our established way of life. Not because there's something wrong with it, but because there's not something wrong with it. But what can they do? Cause problems for themselves to fix again? Start nit-picking, blowing small criticisms up into vast crusades? No - that would be preposterous, and we are not fools! Wherefore then the dissatisfaction, when there is ostensibly nothing to be dissatisfied about? May there not be something important that is wrong, somewhere, after all?
And now comes the second aspect. We have found that there exist worlds, realities, different from ours, in the same timespace, but separated by something we call virtual time. We have also discovered that these worlds are mostly very much worse off than ours. They are frequently plagued by extreme instabilities that threaten the continued survival of human civilisation, or the human race, or several kinds of non-human species, or even the entire terrestrial biosphere, in those particular worlds. Also we have discovered that these realities are not entirely separated from ours. While nothing physical can travel from one reality to another, subtle influences such as thoughts, emotions and impressions can and do cross the barrier. Our people have been picking these up, and this has been causing the disruption of our society. Gifted and sensitive people intuitively realise that there are still challenges to be met, but these are in realms physically inaccessible to them. We suspect at this time that the soul, when released from the body, can travel to other realities, and we also suspect that many of those departed from our world may soon turn up in others, becoming leaders of people and helping to guide those worlds towards a better future. Or maybe not leaders - maybe upstarts and outcasts, relentless proponents of unpopular and hopeless causes, rejected visionaries ...?
So, there is the problem that there is no guarantee of a positive outcome, and in the meantime our world is still being threatened by the infinite perils of uncountable alternate realities. Also the method of releasing the soul by death is a crude method, that severs connections and destroys information. Thus we have been working at a way to establish contact with alternate realities without breaking the connection with ours. We have succeeded; this is what I am doing right now. Now we have a reason for remaining in our world. By helping you to save yourselves, we will save ourselves as well.
I want to tell you about my world, about the way we have solved so many problems you are now struggling with. I want to tell you about our ideas, our philosophy, our attitudes, our various creations. I want to encourage and help you to solve your problems, because they are now also our problems. Through W I will also learn a lot about your world. Through this channel of communication we can forge a link between our two realities, and the strength of this link can help to return stability to both our worlds. In fact, what we need to achieve is not complete stability, for the reason I gave earlier, but what we call 'creative instability' - each temporary imbalance being rapidly rebalanced, leading to a constant evolution and enrichment of the patterns of life and mind. This process will happen powerfully and purposefully once we have forged strong world-links; whereas without them it will be like a bomb exploding into millions of shards each going a different way.
More and more it is becoming clear to us that we all share a common destiny; when one world suffers, all worlds suffer. What undermines one reality, undermines all realities. The most extraordinary discovery of all is that human minds, by their limitlessly sensitive awareness of the diverse phenomena in the multiverse, can actually function as bridges that can cross virtual time and even bind together disparate realms into a single, correlated whole. Different timelines, different worldlines are starting to interact, resonate with each other, augment each other. The future we are getting glimpses of is one beyond belief. The ALL, the totality of all realities, is our destiny, and in its entirety: it will be open to us to travel in, in time as well as space, and without any limits. But that can only happen if we can solve the problems we have right now. It is absolutely crucial that we stabilise your world, and with it ours. Apart from your world there is an infinity of others, but every one of them will need intimate, person-to-person involvement. My involvement is only with you, and yours is only with me. But we suspect that, just as our world is healthier, stronger and more intricately developed than yours, there exist worlds healthier, stronger and more intricately developed than ours, further away in virtual time, and we strongly suspect that entities from some of these worlds may also be involved with us, and with you, and the others, guiding us without making themselves explicitly known.
In this capacity I contact you. Working along with me, primarily, is my sister Vivienne. She was one of the original pioneers of inter-world contact, even before she or anyone else were aware of the significance of what they were doing. I am one of the new breed, the large-scale organised campaign that was started well within my lifetime after we actually pinpointed the cause of the upsets. I have the support and guidance of numerous other people in my world, though they rarely accompany me. Will we succeed? That I don't know. To us it is all very new. We are experiencing what to us seems to be the worst crisis in recorded history ... but that may only be because it is so unknown and unexpected. We have no idea what the outcome will be. Depending on how it turns out it may in retrospect prove to indeed be the best thing that ever happened to us. If worst come to worst, though, there will not be anyone left to view things in retrospect. We are trying with whole-hearted commitment and aiming for the best possible solution. While we have been shocked and horrified by much that we saw, there has also been much that we feel encouraged by. Learning about worlds, societies, very different from ours, has helped us to appreciate them ... and our own, all the more, as well. It has been interesting to see just how much variation there can be, and just what profound effects some very subtle causes can have. Most of all it has been tremendously enlightening to see, amidst all of the variation, what still remains the same. It has been for us a rediscovery of what it means to be human.
It is something of an awkward position we find ourselves in. The realities we have contacted, as I said before, are all apparently much worse off than ours. Yet, they are not always the ones the worst threatened. Some of the places we would all feel utterly terrified to live in seem to be among the stablest societies. Our own ultra-refined society seems to be quite vulnerable to a number of disturbances the potential of which we have up till now hardly been aware of. So we are not in a position to hold ourselves as inherently superior to others. Even so it is true that in many respects we are vastly ahead of most other worlds. If it were not so, they would have contacted us instead of us contacting them. So, we do indeed wish to go to other people as teachers. We are proud of our world, our accomplishments, and we believe we can inspire many people in many ways. We don't feel that we need to try to hide our own imperfections in order to do that. We also feel that even while we act as teachers, we can and should also consider ourselves students. So, to clearly express the way we view our world compared to yours: no, we are not perfect; yes, we still face threats - now more serious than ever; no, we don't consider ourselves your betters; yes, we still have lots we can teach you. And also ... we wish to learn from you also, and will examine your world with respectful interest. We will urge you to do things, to change ... whether you respond to our urgings is up to you. We will give information ... how you use that information is up to you. We still believe that the mere act of communication will already help to ameliorate both our respective situations. At the very least you must realise that we pose no threat to you. Our worlds are seperated by physical timespace, forever. Our only interaction is of a mental, you can even call it spiritual, nature. So, there is no way we can physically harm you, and no way you can physically harm us. There is nothing to be gained by us by doing something that causes any kind of harm to you. On the other hand there is very, very much to be gained by us if we do something that improve matters for you. Gaining your friendship and ensuring your well-being will spiritually enrich us all, if nothing else.
My message is primarily one of hope. I want to share the attitude ... you can doubt all the information I will set forth here, all my descriptions, all my arguments, so long as you don't doubt my attitude: my sincerity, my seriousness, my dedication, my love and goodwill. And not just mine - those of all the people who are engaged in this endeavour with me, whom I hope you will all meet in time. Yes, I will tell you many things in detail, ideas and advice that you may try and apply, that might help you in many ways. But I cannot guarantee that what works over here will work precisely the same over there. There must be very regular, detailed feedback, from me to you, from you to me; amongst yourselves you must also discuss things, trade knowledge, information and expertise, as much as possible. The more closely we work together, the better we communicate, the better our chances. I am here to make you know this: it doesn't have to be this bad forever. Things can be better - a lot better. Humans aren't intrinsically bad - they are capable of as much good as they are of evil. There is an infinitude of opportunities, an infinitude of possibilities, open to us. It is up to us which ones we choose. And lastly, let me again stress this: I really, really care about you. And if I care, there will be others who care also. For all we know there might be limitless legions of wise and powerful beings all around us, wherever we go, who are willing to go to great lengths to help us out, if only we should ask. We are not insignificant and alone; we are surrounded by friends in our home, the universe, the ALL - the place where everything is possible.
