ACCESSIBLE ARTS AND CRAFTS FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN AND ADULTS
Welcome to the Accessible Arts and Crafts website!
I am a visually impaired mother of two busy, bouncy toddlers.
I like to spend time doing all kinds of crafts, especially sewing, working with clay and beads, and various paper crafts,
I recently also became interested in origami, which has been my main reason for creating this site.
However, this site is not only about origami. Some other paper crafts I enjoy are scrap booking, paper weaving, card making and kirigami.
You don't have to see to be able to enjoy doing paper crafts.
I would like to find, create and share all kinds of paper crafts that can be enjoyed and that are easy and practical for blind and visually impaired children and adults to do.
Perhaps you are a blind parent, wanting to share arts and crafts with your kids;
perhaps you are a teacher with visually impaired children or adults in your class; or you are a blind adult, looking for a hobby you can do on your own?
It doesn't really matter. Your crafts don't have to be works of art.
What is important is that we find creative ways to make paper crafts enjoyable and accessible to those without sight.
So, please feel free to explore this site and to e-mail me for any contributions, comments, suggestions, or just to say hi!
