How ironic

to yearn for the luxury

of one day

being bored again ...

In the naivety of my youth

Time seemed endless

Like a mighty mountain range

Receding in the hazy distance,

Going on forever and ever …

Time seemed infinite

like the vast expanse

of a restless ocean,

and me a bobbing twig,

playfully floating free …

Once, time seemed sparkling

with endless opportunity

like a brilliant diamond ...

But now it seems

That time’s become

just like glass ...

fragile and brittle ....
