Flymodel No. 9 Lancaster bomber Mk. 1 This English heavy bomber was first produced in 1941. It is considered to be amongst the best of its type used during the Second World War. Possessing excellent flying characteristics, it could take off with a bomb load close to 10 tons. The first combat flight of 2 Lancasters took place on the night of 17 April 1942, during a raid by the RAF on Essen. Polish pilots flew in squadron 300 from February 1944 until the end of the war. Speed: 462 km/h Ceiling: 7468m Range: 1673km Armament: 8 Browning machine guns of 7.7mm calibre, 6500 kg bombs N.B. 1) This model is very difficult and requires very accurate workmanship. 2) Always test fit pieces before gluing them. 3) Glue parts marked with the letter "L" (left) in the same way as parts marked with P "Right". 4) Before assembly acquaint yourself thoroughly with the assembly diagrams. 5) Parts marked with an * (asterisk) should be glued onto cardboard. Assembly: Start with the fuselage. Make use of the assembly diagrams. Each of these diagrams is marked with a bold number and constitutes an assembly module with its parts numbered. Subunits which go inside fuselage segments 1-10 are marked with letters; A- pilot cockpit fittings; B- cockpit canopy; C- front gun turret; D- bombers shield; E- rear gun turret; F- upper gun turret. N.B. all transparent pieces are made according to the templates provided and are essential to enhance the realism of the model. Next glue to the inside, subunits B, C, D, E, F. During assembly of the gun turrets C, E, F it is neccessary to mount the machine guns as per assembly diagram 16 (the manufacture of the guns is left to your personal ingenuity). The further sequence of assembly is decided according to the remaining assembly diagrams: 2 - wings; 3 - tail plane; 4 and 5 - engines; 9 - main undercarriage and tail wheel 10, the fitting of which ensures the realism of the model. Further 11 - bomb bay; 8 and 7 - elevator and rudder activators; 15 - bombs as well 14 - propeller blades.
