Halifax Bomber 1:33 - Flymodel No. 57 NB 1) Before assembly, carefully study the general plans, assembly diagrams and building instructions. 2) Apply the principle of test-fitting parts before gluing. 3) Glue parts marked with an asterisk to card of 0.5-0.8 mm thickness. 4) Assemble parts marked with the letter "L" (left) the same as parts marked with "P" (right). 5) Attach all frames with colour so that the coloured surface is directed towards the centre of their segment with the exception of frames 1f and 4d. 6) All wire parts must be accurately copied from the 1:1 scale diagrams, reproducing angles and sizes. 7) In gluing the fuselage segments and wings, it is essential to take particular note of their symmetry and alignment. Building Instructions: Start with the fuselage which is made from eight individual segments. Each segment is assembled in sequence according to instructions until completion referring to the assembly diagrams on sheet A. Segment 1 - glue part 1. Stick 1b under 1a then glue to 1. Attach frames 1d, 1e and 1f. Glue on part 1c. Part A is glued inside the segment. Segment 2 - glue part 2. Glue in frame 2a, glaze window openings by gluing thin transparent sheeting behind the window openings. Glue B and B1 inside segment. Glue floor B2 to bent tabs on B and B1. Glue seat (made from B5-B8) to marked position on floor and table made from B3 and B4. Attach frame 2b. Segment 3 - assemble using 3 and frame 3a. Glaze window openings. Glue C inside segment. Glue floor C1 to marked position on C. Attach partition C2. Glue seat made from B5-B8 to marked location on C. The side wall of the segment, as well as the floor C1 and the frame 3a form the pilot cockpit, which is fitted out using parts C3-C14. N.B. do not glue seat C7 to frame 3b until after gluing the frame in place. After assembling these fittings, glue frame 3b in place. Segment 4 - assemble using part 4. After gluing tab 4f to frame 4a, glue frame in place. Glaze windows. Glue D inside segment. To marked position on D and to frame 4a, glue D2. Make seat from B5-B8 and glue to marked area on D1. Glue D1 to segment and to strengthen glue D to frame 4a. Glue tab 4f to frame 4b, then glue frame 4b inside segment. Next make cuts and folds in outer skin of segment as shown in the diagrams on sheet A. After making this opening in the bottom of the segment, introduce and glue inside and to gluing tabs 4f, bomb bay roof plate 4c, frames 4d and 4e. Glue parts E and E1 to the side walls of the bomb bay. Equip the cut-off rectangles of fuselage skin with parts E2-E7 to make bomb bay doors, then glue doors in place as shown in diagrams on sheet A. Segment 5 - glue using part 5. After gluing tabs 5f to frames 5a and 5b, glue frames inside segment. Into the round opening in the upper skin glue the rotating gun-turret mount made from parts 5d and 5e. Make the bomb bay as for the previous segment, but here introduce and glue onto tabs 5f, sheet 5c and use side bulkheads of the bay F and F1. Equip the cut-off rectangles of the segment skin with parts E4-E7 and F2-F3, see sheet A diagrams for method of attaching these bomb bay doors. Segment 6 - glue using part 6. Glaze windows. Glue frames 6a and 6b. Segment 7 - glue using part 7. Glaze windows. Glue frames 7a and 7b as well as tail-wheel attachment reinforcement part 7c. Segment 8 - glue using 8 and 8a. Attach frames 8b and 8c and glue parts 8d, 8e and 8f. Assemble remaining elements and parts of the fuselage as shown in the diagrams on sheet A. Each assembly diagram on Sheet B constitutes an assembly module and has the numbers of the needed parts. Further assembly instruction are therefore not needed. Careful, precise study of these diagrams and the general plans will enable you to complete the model. N.B. the firm "Gomix" can supply pre formed transparent cockpit canopies.
