Born and educated in Hungary and received her music education at the    Ferenc Erkel Conservatorium and the Franz Liszt  Music Academy, she later studied with the famous French flautist, Jean-Pierre Rampal. After the Hungarian uprising she moved to South Africa and soon established herself as broadcaster, recitalist, concerto player and chamber musician.  She was appointed Senior Lecturer at Stellenbosch University and several composers dedicated works to her.
