Day 1:
Out route from Dangerpoint to Agulhas via Viljoenshof
From
Dangerpoint Lighthouse the route follows the coast to Franskraal,
then over Sopieshoogte to Baardskeerdersbos (Blue section). Just past
B'bos you turn right to do a long gentle climb to the 1st
waterpoint, from here it is an undulating back road through
Viljoenshof (red section). You continue along this road to the Bloekombos and waterpoint 2. A bit more
hardpack gravel before you get to fynbos twintrack and the sea
(waterpoint 3). This section is probably the most beautiful
of the route, but can be the toughest! If you're fast enough
and get here in time to catch the low tide you will have a firm
ride,
else it is going to be a bit of a slog! At the next village you're back on
road till you reach the Agulhas lighthouse.
Day 2:
Return route from Agulhas to Dangerpoint via Elim
The
return is longer (blue route), but the beach section is easier as it will be an
outgoing tide as you get there. At Viljoenshof you turn
right to Elim (waterpoint 3) and then to Baardskeerdersbos.
A bit further along after B'bos is waterpoint 4.
