Living in Burnt Oak Cottage at the time of the 1841 Census.
With her were Beresford and George, two of her sons, plus a
26 year old woman named Eliza Osmer and her 3 year old son
James. Further research shows that Eliza was married to
Charles Hamilton Osmer. He sailed with Sir John Franklin
as Purser in HMS Erebus on the fatal expedition of 1845 to
find the North West Passage. Eliza's relationship to
Elizabeth is not given in the 1841 census, but she is shown
as a daughter in the 1861 Census, still living at Burnt Oak.
There is reason to believe Eliza was Elizabeth's niece. She
is named in James Scott's will as a daughter. We presume she
was adopted.
Elizabeth Scott died of chronic bronchitis.
