The following points must be noted when trying to communicate with the cash register.
1.For the ET 6600 / 6800 / 7626 set Main Flag 85 = 53, Main Flag 86 = 110000 for No Parity or 110111 for Even Parity.
...For the ET 5616 set Main Flag 44 = 53, Main Flag 45 = 110110 for No Parity or 110111 for Even Parity.
...For the TX 500 enter the following "56 X 0 CASH" for Even Parity and "56 X 1 CASH" for No Parity.
2.The wiring diagram for each cash register connected directly to a PC is as follows...

4. The following strings must be programmed into the cash register modem for it to operate. Use a terminal program, such as Hyper Terminal , to program the modem.
AT&F (loads default settings)
AT&N6 (sets fixed baud rate of 9600).Use this baud rate only.
ATS0=2 (picks up line after 2 rings)
For the TX 500 AT&D0 (ignores on-to-off transition of DTR)
AT&W (saves changes in RAM)
5. Please note that only Z2 information levels will be cleared for the TX 500.
6.The maximum levels set on the cash register for Departments and PLUs must correspond with the maximum levels set on the software.
7.For ET 7626 installatons, please note the eprom size being used and select the correct cash register model under ECR Network accordingly. The financial sales protocol differs on the 1 Meg eprom as opposed to the 4 Meg eprom. Selecting the wrong cash register model will result in incorrct or no Financial Sales information. Also note that where scanning is required, make sure that both the PC and scanner are connected on the same SIO 1 board. If the PC is connected on the SIO 2 board, communication errors will result while the cash register is in use.
8. For communication errors during transmission, set a Timeout
value in milliseconds under Store Details.Try an initial value of
30 milliseconds.![]()

Communication problems with 7626 have
been rectified. VAT sales and VAT paid now appears on PC POS receipt. It is possible to enter a message that appears on a PC POS receipt. Accounts where the balance exceeds the limit will automatically be deactivated on the cash register after an end of day extraction. The GP% report was calculated as a markup rather than a true GP. This has been rectified The GRV and Ordering modules have been extended to allow for decimal quantities If a PLU is linked to a stock item where the Stock Type = 1, then the weight sold for that item will appear on the PLU report instead of the quantity. |
