Welcome to a Presentation of Bronze Sculpture by Barry Jackson

Bronze Sculpture is a medium that lends itself to depicting and capturing  the human figure and wildlife.   Being of Africa myself and naturally concerned about the threat of modern development on wild Africa, I tend to concentrate on African wildlife and the culture of The Bushmen.

The bronze figurative works lean mostly toward the African ethnic theme, particularly the Bushmen also known as the San people of Southern Africa.   Theirs is a threatened culture so ancient that they existed since the time of the stone age period.  The artist hopes that his realistic style of sculpture captures the very essence of the Bushmen and that of the wildlife they live with so closely.

Some of the bronzes are much more western in theme, however the concept remains in the traditional  style such as the Fly Fisherman, The Ballerina and indeed the modern mine workers whose efforts have made an enormous contribution to our economy.

Please explore the Gallery where the bronzes have been presented

in three sections, Bushmen, Wildlife and Figures.
