Dear Students & Parents,
It has been a bumper term, with many more students and teachers
joining the Academy. We are pleased to announce that we now offer
drums, electric guitar, violin, flute, music
technology, and a rock/pop
syllabus for voice. Next year sees exciting happenings for musical
theatre students too.
We welcome our new teachers Sean Nunan (Drums), Ike Moriz & Ilze
Gous (Rock & Pop Voice), Wesley Hlawe (Guitar & Electric Guitar), Tessa van der Walt & Lester
Le Roux (Piano & Music
Technology), Morne Zaayman (Flute) and Hadley Duminy (violin).
Barry Prince, as many of you know will be examining
in New Zealand from October 29th until December 8th. We wish him
a successful and rewarding trip. Special arrangements for his
students include a week added onto the end of this term and an
additional week when he returns.
00For the time he is away, we welcome
in his place Gretchen
Thetschke (082 9221947) and Lucy
Holgate (082
8805908). They are both chosen by Barry and highly accomplished.
We wish them a joyous few weeks with us and trust the students will
benefit highly from their expertise.
Changes to my Classical Guitar Classes for 2008:
I will be following
the Trinity College syllabus which requires a more exciting and
extensive music training. Lessons required will therefore be 45
or 60 minutes. There are no fee increases this term.

REMINDERS:
Please call the teacher concerned, preferably 24 hrs
in advance, if you cannot make a lesson for any reason.
Due
to our full timetable missed lessons cannot just be changed
or necessarily made up.
(We might only have an alternative lesson, if a student has cancelled
well enough in advance to make one available).
If
a lesson is cancelled from our side an alternate lesson will
always be offered.
Any
payment received 1 week after the registration date will incur
a late admin fee of R30.
In
the best interests of all, we reserve the right to re-assign
a student with a different teacher if need be.
One
terms notice is required to discontinue lessons.
