In the past, most “Training” was often achieved through harsh rough and often-cruel methods.
It has been scientifically proved that this kind of rough thoughtless handling actually INHIBITS the learning process!
Animals (rather like people) CANNOT absorb knowledge when under stress!

TRAINING CLASSES – WE PROVIDE:

Full individual evaluation for each dog and handler, including a programme for any specific problem they may be experiencing.
Individually tailored methods, to suite each individual dog and handler.
For the more advanced dogs and show obedience dogs, and agility, there are also evening classes (under floodlights) available at no extra charge.
Only positive reinforcement methods are used and no abuse will be tolerated. The emphasis is on making training FUN both for the dog and the handler!
Classes are structured in such a way that the dogs do not get bored and have plenty of appropriate stimulation to make learning exciting and fun!
Learning is NEVER pressured, but always achieved in a relaxed calm environment – smiling faces and wagging tails!
Instructors are fully qualified and under the direct supervision of Louise (Accredited Animal Behaviour Consultant)
Individual tuition is available where necessary.

DIFFICULT DOGS:

We specialise in “DIFFICULT DOGS” and individual tuition is available on request, - usually as a bridge until the dog is fully under control and both dog and handler are confident and happy, desensitised to other dogs and COPING, with the eventual aim of being slotted into a class.

If a dog were unmanageable it would be pointless to attempt to put it straight into a class, as this would only increase the level of stress and anxiety (for both dog and handler) and send all the wrong messages to the dog, which would quite likely, as a result exhibit many negative behaviours! Prevention is better than cure!

As with all our groups, Louise is available with the behavioural back up, help and advise.

The training school regularly holds social functions, shows, fun days, chat evenings, video evenings, all working towards a better human animal interaction and improved relationships with our “Best Friend”.
